With a passion for community engagement, Azia relocated back to her hometown, where she plans on utilizing her skill set to provide financial literacy and promote economic growth in the community.
Azia Young, a former Financial Manager for the Naval Information Warfare Center- Pacific, has experience in budgeting federal appropriations, financial integrity, and stewardship of tax-payers dollars.
Native to Harrisburg, Azia graduated from Harrisburg High School in 2007, where she was a member of the School of Business & Industry Honors Prep Program (SBI) and a captain of the varsity cheerleading squad. She continued her education at Temple University, earning her bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. During her undergraduate studies, she was a student advocate for LIFT-Philadelphia and a literacy coach for the Free Library of Philadelphia.
In 2014, she enlisted in the United States Navy. While serving active duty as a Sonar Technician onboard USS Howard in San Diego, she received the Navy and Marine Corps' Achievement Medal. Upon completion of her military service, she earned a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands in California.
